Process is a recruiter screen, then a very lengthy case study that potentially has a follow up, then a review of the case study. Case study takes significantly more time than the recruiter suggests. As a candidate, I felt taken advantage of that they asked me to come up with significant analytical work without even having met with the hiring manager and learning about the business itself from the team. This shortcut approach to hiring might work while the labor economy is weak but I imagine Stepful will get more pushback from candidates when the market improves.

Question 1
Without hearing anything about our operations and strategic vision tell us how to improve our company. We will tell you this takes 3 hours but you should really spend 8-9 if you want to be competitive.
The interview process began with a helpful intro call, followed by a case, discussion on the case, and in-person interviews. The hiring team moved quickly to meet my deadlines and everyone was very welcoming and friendly.
