I applied online and roughly 3 weeks later I received the canned rejection email. 1 week later I received yet another canned rejection email. Then out of left field I received an email from HR asking me about my interest in the role and my availability for a phone interview. Strange.
I proposed an interview date and was promptly contacted by HR. I had what I considered to be a great conversation with the HR person, eventhough the hiring manager was far into the interview process, but I was told that the hiring manager still wanted to interview me.
The very next week an interview was set for me to meet the hiring manager. As I signed into the videoconferencing platform I waited for 5 minutes for the manager to join. It didn't happen. I proceeded to call HR to find out what happened and next steps. The HR manager assured me that I would get answers and that my interview would be rescheduled. It didn't happen. No explanation, no rescheduling of the interview, no apology for apparently being ghosted. Needless to say, I was disappointed as I felt this role would be perfect for me. Roughly 5-6 weeks later I received yet another canned rejection email from Tanium. This experience was absolutely awful and unprofessional yo say the least. More and more this seems to be a Bay Area kind of thing, where candidates aren't treated with respect. We seem to be so expendable to companies hiring able bodied candidates. Word to the wise, we are people looking in need of work, not to be discarded like trash. Please treat candidates with respect.
