I received an email from a recruiter 3 days after I applied, and we scheduled a 30 minute call. From there, I was told the next step would be a call with the hiring manager if they were interested.
A week later, the recruiter emailed to schedule an in-person interview with the current team (I seemed to have skipped the hiring manager call). I was scheduled to meet with 4 people total, in 3 separate interviews that were a half hour each.
The office was beautiful and the people were very friendly. I had my first two interviews, and I felt they went well. It was very conversational and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. When I asked about my third interview, they seemed confused and told me that he was not in the office and they did not have anything scheduled on their end. I was told that if I were to move forward, I would have to do an interview with him.
I left with an overall good feeling about the process, and I felt I had a good chance at the position. My interview was on Wednesday, and on Thursday I followed up with the recruiter. She was out of the office for the week, so I expected to hear something on Monday. Monday evening I got an email thanking me for coming in, but I would not be moving forward. I was shocked, but I respect the decision.
I responded to the recruiter and asked if we could discuss the feedback she received on me so that I can learn from the experience. She was very receptive and scheduled a call with me to discuss. We talked about 10 minutes about my interviews and I left feeling relatively positive about the experience.
