      Auto Claims Adjuster Trainee Interview

      May 6, 2011
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Sacramento, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers (Sacramento, CA) in Apr 2011

      Interview

After applying online, I was contacted by phone to come in for a brief 10-15 minute interview, basically making sure you understand what the job will be, how soon you can start, and if you want to move forward in the in the process. The next step is taking a 3 hour assessment which consists of 8 different parts ranging from math, reading comprehension, spelling/finding errors, a listening portion, and writing an apology letter. All of these are timed, and you don't have a lot of time to think or go back, but you aren't penalized for guessing. If you score high enough, they call you in for a two-part interview. The first part is a "peer interview" where you get to meet with some people who are in the position you are applying for and you get to ask them questions about the job and it helps you relax a little bit too. Then you go into a different room and are interviewed by two managers who pick questions from a packet of questions and take notes. After that, you wait about a week or so while they talk it over with everyone and decide if you are worthy of the job.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers in Sep 2023

      Interview

Application, assessment, phone interview, and zoom interview. The assessment was one of the more complicated ones I’ve taken. Phone interview was exactly 30 minutes. Reviewing the position, your knowledge on company and position, and then just a couple behavioral based questions.. tell me a time when you provided great customer service.. then you will be scheduled for a zoom interview with two managers and two VP’s. My interview was one hour and 45 mins! With the first part being with the managers and second part with the VP’s. The managers provide insight on the job and ask several long behavior based questions. Once you interview with the VP it’s more personable and pretty simple.. it took a week to receive the offer and they offered the higher compensation compared to other insurance adjuster positions I had interviewed for. The feedback on the workplace seems great and there is an auto promotion from trainee, so it’s a great opportunity! Btw all of the travelers employees I’ve interacted with were super nice!

      Question 1

Tell me a time when.. you provided bad news.. received feedback.. made a decision without an approval.. negotiated.. worked under stress.. and how do you organize your work

      Application

I interviewed at Travelers (Lake Oswego, OR) in Jun 2018

      Interview

Interviewed with hiring managers and thought it went great. I was told by managers that I would have a peer interview next. While I waited for the peer interview to be scheduled, I received a form email from Brassring saying I was no longer considered for job. I asked recruiter for feedback as to why and received nothing. I am very disappointed in my treatment. Why would they say I was having a peer interview and then discount me with no feedback? Seems very fake to act that way if I wasn’t continuing. Job is still open. Very disappointing and disrespectful.
