I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TriNet (San Leandro, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied online. Received an impromptu phone screen the next day. It was about 10 minutes and the recruiter seemed extremely excited about me as a candidate and kept talking me up. I was asked a little bit about my background and why I wanted this role, and what I knew about Trinet. He kept saying I had all the qualifications for this role even though I had no marketing experience (I was doing a career change and trying to get into marketing through entry-level positions). He wanted me come in that same day for an interview, but realized the hiring manager wasn't available. He said he'd contact me later that day to set up an in-person interview for later that week. End of the day came by, and no call or email from him. I ended up calling him to get an update, and he said he talked to the hiring manager and she wanted someone with more of a marketing background. He told me to fix up my resume and add more marketing experience if I could and resubmit. This was extremely frustrating as I've already tailored my resume to that position and wasn't about to make up my experience. The recruiter should have also talked to the hiring manager beforehand about me as a candidate before reaching out and getting me all excited. He made it seem like I had this job in the bag and that I was the perfect fit. Very disappointing, unprofessional, and incompetent on the recruiter's part.
