Overall Process took ~3 weeks.
Recruiter was very friendly, transparent, responsive to queries & proactive in providing updates / feedback from interviews.
1) HR / Recruiter Call - Compensation Details are stated up front
2) Interview with Hiring Manager
3) Case Study (Panel Interview) with the Strategic Finance Team (including the Head of Strategic Finance) - This should be the last step before the offer
- Includes (1) Basic P&L Forecast & Presentation (2) SQL Questions
4) Follow-up Feedback Call from HR/Recruiter
Note that if the hiring manager is situated in the US, interviews will be held in US timezone (i.e. 9pm in SGT, 9am in US).
As a candidate, I was exceptionally impressed by the way the recruiter assisted me in the entire interview process. Not only did she provide practical advice on what I should note to prepare for the interviews, I was also given prompt updates after interviews (e.g. within a 12 hour frame even though recruiter was in an Australia timezone and the interviewer was in the US timezone).
As for the interviews, they were generally quite casual / did not feel too structured. Basic questions on your background and motivations/ability to contribute to the role that you are interviewing for. For example, in the case study, they are not too focused on the information you have to present, instead they have adhoc questions that are related to Uber's business (and honestly can be better answered only if you have been in similar businesses / functions previously).
Recruiter gave me feedback from the interviewers and told me that I did not secure the offer. She very kindly offered to pass my resume to her colleague / keep in the loop should any other suitable opportunities come along. Although this may be a courtesy gesture and I do not place hope in having follow-ups, I appreciated her etiquette.
Overall, a positive interview experience!
