I applied online. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in Apr 2023
Interview
One of the worst experiences in my life so far. The position was for a leadership role. The interviewer was from technical background with 13-14 years of experience(as per his LinkedIn profile). He did not have the minimum courtesy to introduce himself. His camera was off during the entire process, however I was expected to turn on my camera/video during the interview process. He asked me to tell me about myself, and while I was walking him through about myself and my experience, I was interrupted in the middle of my answer and proceeded with the next question. The interviewer was ignorant and arrogant.

Question 1
There were questions like, why do you still follow runbook process. You are in SRE and everything in SRE should be 100% automated. At the end I asked what is the expectation from this position? Does this position require hand on technical knowledge? His Answer: We need a "STRONG LEADER"(god knows what does it mean and how to define the requirement). No he does not need hands on experience. I asked you all the technical questions because of the format of the interview process.
