      Control Systems Engineering Interview

      Sep 14, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Valero in Sep 2017

      Interview

Met at my schools engineering career fair, interviewed the next day. Lots of behavioral questions and answering using the STAR technique. Overall the interviewer was a really nice guy and actually turned out to be someone I tutored's dad. My best advice is to find out about any events Valero is putting on and networking as much as possible. I think the interview wasn't the biggest deciding factor in my employment, but rather the number of people I showed I cared.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I can't specifically remember but mostly questions like: "Tell me about a time you failed."
