We appreciate your taking the time to provide a review, but are so sorry about your negative interview experience with us. We'd like to take the opportunity to address several of your concerns here, but would like for you to reach out to us at recruiting@venterraliving.com to discuss in more detail as we want to be able to really narrow down the missteps that might have led up to your specific negative experiences. The more details you're able to provide, the more prepared we'll be to prevent a recurrence for a future candidate.
While we stand by our promise to strive to promote from within, sometimes a potential for promotion might turn out to not be an option for one reason or another down the road, so we might simultaneously search for candidates outside the organization. However, we also aim to be transparent in our recruiting and respect our candidates' time, which is why the changes in role availability would have been disclosed to you at the start of both interviews as you had mentioned.
We're a unique organization, so some of our interviewing methods, are equally unique (as you obviously noticed!) While our Hiring Managers should be open to interviewing in an office if it's the preference of a candidate, we actually encourage them to get out from behind the desk and into a more informal, open, and laid back atmosphere like a community common area to interview. We've found this lends itself to a more relaxed conversation where candidates feel they can be more themselves. We're so sorry to hear that privacy concerns resulted in the opposite in your case, and will definitely pass your comments along, as we always want to accommodate for our candidates' comfort and that can obviously differ from individual to individual.
Our assessment and unique interview questions are both intended to help us get to know candidates better, as well. As important as it is for us to understand skills and experience, as you mentioned, we're interested in retaining employees for the long term, so we believe it's equally important to have an understanding of what really makes folks tick. We feel these are both valuable tools in helping make that happen.
While we normally have two in-person interviews, having one with a different Community Manager other than the hiring community is a bit atypical, and you absolutely should have received a follow up regarding the interview, regardless. We apologize for the lack of follow up that you experienced, as we aim to never leave candidates in the dark for more time than is necessary. Again, we'd appreciate you emailing us directly to provide a few additional details to ensure we've taken steps to rectify this concern as well as the others you address here.
Thank you again for taking the time to shed some light by providing your review here. We're looking forward to hearing from you soon.
