I applied online. I interviewed at Viasat (Carlsbad, CA) in Feb 2020
Interview
Contacted by recruiter who then had me go through a call with the hiring manager. Didn't hear back and had to email the recruiter before having onsite scheduled almost a month later. Interview was relaxed and most of them were nice to talk to. What put me off was a senior engineer/manager was looking at his phone during the interview which could have been avoided and was rude. This made me convinced he had already had someone internally in mind for the position after revealing most of the hires are internal and he did not go into depth about my past experiences. During lunch the hiring manager had a hard time coming up with questions and talked more about himself. Overall, it was an okay experience but could've been more professional. Received generic rejection email 2 days later that they had a better candidate.
