I was given an assignment that required upgrading their existing system. For this, I prepared a Product Requirements Document (PRD) along with revenue and impact metrics pdf, and a low-fidelity design pdf for this new feature. This new feature was a complex feature in addition to what current app offers, and it took a significant amount of my time. However, the interviewer expected me to provide a detailed wireframe in Figma (Isn't this a graphic designer's work)
When I read interview experience from past candidates who mentioned that the interview process seemed geared toward gathering free ideas to reduce the company’s workload, I got its complete understanding. I felt like free work was being done from candidates. It’s worth noting that they removed the job posting within two days of posting. I would recommend being cautious with such interview processes and don't waste your time, just like I did.
