1) That I learned early in my career, that managers have trouble giving honest feedback, like "Why didn't I get that promotion". So I can be frank at times, as open and honest as possible, employees might be shocked at first, but in the end I earn their respect and they start to seek my input. 2) I total believe that I'm only as good as my team, so I take the time to train, coach and develop employees that want to learn. Starting with the importance of a team and being a team player, it takes everyone and makes everyone's job easier.
