What's your experience with dealing with a difficult customer?

I always provide the time for the client to express their anger or frustration, once they have vented, if their issues are valid I express my concern and offer my assistance to address the problem. I have had to deal with many of these situations with Tier 1 clients and have always managed to placate the client and have remedied the situation as soon as possible.
