Why did you choose Sephora?

If you really want this job you'll have to try alot harder than just submitting an application. Do your research, find out who are the hiring managers or the store director. Call in store and ask for either person by name. Don't be satisfied with leaving your name and a message if you are unable to speak to someone. Call daily at different times until you are able to speak to someone. Once you've spoken to someone discuss your intention to work for the company and your application. Try to schedule a meeting to discuss your interest in the company. Be yourself and be smart. It's the holiday season take advantage of that! You don't even know what is going on with your application in that portal. Chances are it never got seen. I put 6 apps in on the portal, I've had three interviews so far NONE of which were based of my portal application. In fact, the status of my online application has not changed since May when I was in another state and applied because I knew I would be moving. If that doesn't get you going consider this... I received an email thanking me for my interest in Sephora and informing me that someone else had been chosen for the position after careful consideration. 10 minutes later I received another email inviting me to a job fair. 1 day 4 hours later I had a voice message on my phone inviting me to an interview... All while my online application statuses remain unchanged. If you really interested in this company let them tell you that you're lacking experience and then go work somewhere else to gain that experience if, and only if, you are unable to convince them that you possess skills far more important than retail experience that will be beneficial to the company. It's not just about saying it it's about MEANING it. Conduct research on the company, understand how it differentiates itself from it's competitor, pay attention to the way they remain relevant in today's beauty market and so on. Fall in love with the company and grow a passion for it. If you are able to develop that passion for the company you will effortlessly be committed to learning more and more about it. That passion coupled with the knowledge you've gathered will be evident in the interviews. I think managers can distinguish between people who are "Experienced And Chasing a Pay check" and " Inexperienced but Genuinely Devoted" I didn't mean to type you this long essay but I didn't want you to give up and settle so easily when in reality, you haven't even given yourself a fair chance. Goodluck!!!!
