I cited the fact that this role would be good progression from my then current, or now previous role. This would allow me to learn new things and about other areas of Finance, all while staying within my chosen industry of telecoms. As well as that, Ciena as an organization has a good reputation in terms of valuing staff from what I have heard and read (e.g. the enhancement of maternity/paternity arrangements announced in 2015) and thus was also the kind of organization I would like to work for. So essentially a win on both counts of role and organization.
