      User Experience Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Workiva

      Interview

The most difficult part of the process with Workiva is getting past their gatekeeper: an internal recruiter with a gigantic bag of chips on her shoulder. She will challenge your background and skills, point out gaps and "concerns," even though current Workiva employees have the exact same issue. I respect that Workiva wants to hold very high standards for candidates, but this step of the process left me with bad impression of the entire business. The following interview with others on the UX team was positive, however the discussion revealed aspects of the job that were not covered in the JD or in the recruiter screen.

      Question 1

How many years have you managed direct reports? How many reports? What kind of structure? What is your management style?
