I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Yelp (Scottsdale, AZ) in Dec 2011
Interview
The first interview was over the phone. They asked basic questions about my experience which was quite easy for me having worked in sales for a few years. After that they asked me to schedule a time to interview through Skype. The Skype interview was with three separate sales managers asking similar but different questions involving role playing. Basically what their trying to get you to do is pitch them as a possible client to set up a follow-up sales call. Be prepared to think on your feet and answer without redundancy. Quick, concise, and to the point.

Question 1
I own Mike's pizza and I only advertise in the local newspaper, how would you pitch me for an advertising service?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
