Being on the other side of recruitment makes me understand why the good recruiters get paid so much.
The first person who interviewed me had less experience than me and they were so nonchalant it was obvious they didn’t want anyone more senior than them. He ended with a “feel free to add me on linkedin” lol. FYI - responding “got it” to a candidate’s answer is condescending and honestly rude. I already knew it wasn’t a fit but chose to stay there for professional courtesy, I’d expect the same - but hey hence my previous call out about different levels of recruiters.
The next person I met with didn’t know how to ask questions but wanted the STAR format. A coordinator I met with was so scared to ask me a question, it was obvious she hadn’t been trained to interview. With the “are you flexible with that” response to my compensation ask I could tell this would just be a practice interview for me. I sensed a bit of arrogance and assumption that everyone wants to work at Zynga. If they made changes to their process, it could be decent.
