I'm just going to say that flat-out, whether or not saying "you won't get hired", is professional, availability is king when it comes to getting a job. Anytime I've said I have an open availability I've gotten the job, so if your hours of availability don't jive with the needs of the restaurant, you will more likely than not be overlooked as a candidate. Additionally, saying that you're never going to apply for a cane's just shows that you're not professional enough to see the bigger picture when it comes to the hiring process.
