What element most excites you about the job description and what element sounds least exciting to you? Knowledge of climate change issues and the problems facing the ocean is helpful but not required for the role. If you have a background in climate/ocean sciences, please elaborate here. If you don’t, please describe how you will get up to speed on this subject matter within the first year of employment. This job will involve working with a diverse group of professionals located in many countries. Tell me about an experience you’ve had working across cultures and how you helped create an inclusive environment. This role includes a number of responsibilities including managing different stakeholders across the Global Mangrove Alliance and timelines. Describe how you come to consensus on projects involving different organizations. If you were given free rein to develop content and refresh the GMA website and LinkedIn, what would you do? (What kinds of interesting content you would develop and why? What would you improve upon that’s already there? Any strengths/weaknesses)
How would you incorporate historical data into making predictions?
1st Interview: A day after submitting the application I was contacted for a brief HR phone call to discuss the position and to schedule a Zoom Interview with the hiring manager and other team members. In this interview, the candidate would get a chance to meet the core team and hiring manager and vice-versa. In addition, I was asked about my understanding and take-on how to leverage state-of-the-art climate model outputs to quantify the natural catastrophes in the context of Climate Change. Other questions being, how to choose a climate model out of many available modeling groups across the globe. 2nd Interview: After 1st interview, I was contacted to schedule a 2nd Zoom interview in which I was supposed to give a presentation on 'how to use future projection data under different climate change scenarios to quantify natural catastrophes '. Followed by discussion and questions on the presentation.
