This question is clearly a test of the interviewers ability to question superiors/peers (whichever the interviewer is). I'd recommend requesting that they elaborate on what they mean by "Common sense questions". They should then give you a much more answerable question, one that's not redundant and chauvinistic in nature. If they answer defensively you should use it as an opportunity to show you understand the role of a superior and advise that you understand and will comply.
