Ems Helicopter Pilot Interview Questions

7 ems helicopter pilot interview questions shared by candidates

Phone interview, basic - why Metro, what are your positive attributes, what have you been doing since not flying etc. Once you get to Louisiana you get a 20 -25 question test including fill in the blank. If you are applying for a VFR position be prepared to review ALL your IFR procedures including lost comms, light flashing signals and what they mean (seriously), review RAW Metars and know what AO1, and AO2 mean in the remarks section of the METAR. (Does anyone know the difference between an AO1 and AO2 and in the real flying world does this make a difference between accepting or declining a flight)? I was told that the test would be on Part 61,91,135 and basic aerodynamics. UNTRUE... If you deviate from a rule how many days do you have to send in your response. How does this correspond to real life day to day flying? It does not. And if in the real world you did deviate you'd contact your Chief Pilot and go to the FAR manual. Ridiculous to have had this memorized from a three inch thick FAR/AIM manual. If you do not get an 80 or above the Interview is over and you are asked to leave with your tail tucked between your legs.

There were no uncomfortable or difficult situations in the interview process, which aside from the technical portions, consisted of meeting many of the company's top officers for "table talk" in conversational settings, including a conference room and an on-facility lunch setting.
