I was asked about my previous experience with the brand and in the textile industry, what skills I had that I felt would be transferable.
Walk me through your experience.
They asked the typical questions like “tell me about yourself” and “how do you stay organized”. They also told me that the person who had the job before me didn’t work out and they were looking for someone with a different skill set. The CEO wanted to know if I was comfortable on the phone and if I felt I could hit his projected monthly goals, whereas the marketing manager was interested in my writing skills. In retrospect, I feel the CEO and marketing manager had different ideas for the position and whoever got the job is going to have to manage their differing expectations.
