just test a lot of cases for the math functions and then fix the functions. Change the interfaces and stuff for looser coupling and higher cohesion. Just show them how to make their abstraction better. I was super upset about this part because I fucked it up, even though it's easy, and they were nasty to me. Don't listen to what they say, just do it quickly. They don't give you enough time and they aren't helpful.
