Description:

This person will work on a wide variety of water/wastewater projects including but not limited to wastewater collection, water distribution, reclaimed systems, master planning, and water/wastewater remote facilities such as sewer lift stations, water booster pump stations, concrete and steel reservoirs, pressure reducing valve stations, and water production wells. Typical responsibilities will include preparation of preliminary water and sewer reports, hydraulic analysis, research on jurisdictional design standards, creating exhibits, and assisting the project manager with meeting project deadlines. This is an in-office position and will also include some outside field work and coordination efforts with various local permitting agencies. Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities will include:

• Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Prepare engineering calculations, use modeling software, and prepare reports for water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Fieldwork (observation, site visits)
• Progressively learn to support the design of various water distribution, wastewater collections, reclaimed piping and remote facility infrastructure projects. Complete engineering analysis and calculations for equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, pump selection, and modeling
• Support the preparation of contract documents (plans, specifications, engineering cost estimates and reports).

Staff Engineer background requirements:

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, or a related technical degree. Coursework in water/wastewater distribution and collections systems or facilities is a plus.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam (E.I.T.) prior to start date.
• 0 to 3 years of experience.

· Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.

· Familiarity or coursework utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and WaterCAD or other hydraulic modeling software.

· Ability to organize, interpret, and analyze data. Ability to use independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Possess excellent organizational and time-management skills.
