Low Voltage Technician
Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Low Voltage Technician is to install, service, and repair low voltage equipment and systems. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment, with a strong sense of customer service, as well as maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Functions:
·Install, service, and repair low voltage equipment and systems.
·Work with customers to determine system requirements and requirements of the equipment and system being repaired.
·Communicate with customers any changes to requirements prior to installation.
·Follow all NEC requirements for installation and maintenance.
·Follow all safety rules and regulations as part of daily task list when working with customers.
·Maintain a clean work area.
·May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience in low voltage required and must have a working understanding of intrusion alarm, fire alarm, access control, camera and other systems.·
Alarm Systems - need experience in hardwied and wireless - Honeywell, DSC, Networx, 2GIG, IQ, Alula
Fire Alarm Systems - Potter, Firelite, Napco Firelink
Access Control Systems - ZK, Galaxy Control Systems, Keri , Alarm.Com, Doorking, Linear and others - experience cutting in strikes is a plus
Video Camera Systems - Uniview, Axis, Digital Watchdog and others
Intercom Systems - Aiphone, Akuvox, Optex as well as others
Experience includes installation and troubleshooting of multiple system types above - applicants with data or cable company experience only do not qualify for what we are looking for at this time.
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent experience of (3) three to (5) years with a stable work history.
·Ability to pass a pre-employment background check along with other required qualifications.
·Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to comprehend and follow instructions adequately.
·Ability to handle and understand low voltage systems; use hand tools of all types; use common tools such as measuring tape, jacks, etc., for use in the job.
·Ability to climb ladders of various heights and balance on a ladder when installing equipment on roofs or jobsites.
·Ability to lift 50 lbs. at a time.
Must be able to use computers and have a basic understyanding of networking.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 48.0 per week
