Production Line Setup Mechanic / Changeover Technician

Vege Labs LLC is seeking an experienced Production Line Setup Mechanic / Changeover Technician to support our cosmetics and personal care manufacturing operations.

This position is responsible for production line setup, product changeovers, machine adjustments, minor mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance activities, and keeping production lines running efficiently throughout the day.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who has previous hands-on experience independently setting up and adjusting manufacturing equipment and can contribute with minimal training.

Industry experience in cosmetics, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, nutraceuticals, or other regulated manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up production lines for daily manufacturing runs
• Perform product changeovers and format changes
• Set up, adjust, and fine-tune fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, tube fillers, heat tunnels, and related equipment
• Perform machine adjustments to support production requirements and product specifications
• Troubleshoot routine mechanical issues during production
• Replace wear items such as O-rings, gaskets, hoses, fittings, and similar components as needed
• Perform basic preventative maintenance inspections and routine mechanical upkeep
• Respond quickly to equipment issues to minimize downtime
• Assist operators and production personnel with equipment-related concerns
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and GMP compliance
• Assist with machine cleaning and sanitization activities
• Communicate equipment concerns and improvement opportunities to management and engineering

Equipment Experience Preferred

Candidates should have hands-on setup and changeover experience with some or all of the following:

• Liquid filling equipment
• Tube filling and sealing equipment
• Cappers
• Labelers
• Conveyors
• Heat tunnels
• Pumps
• Pneumatic systems
• Inkjet coding equipment

Experience with Accutek, Filamatic, Simplex, Label-Aire, Norden/Nordenmatic, Videojet, or similar equipment is highly desirable.

Important Information About This Position

This position is primarily focused on production line setup, changeovers, equipment adjustments, production support, and minor mechanical repairs.

Major equipment repairs, electrical troubleshooting, PLC programming, machine rebuilds, fabrication, welding, and complex maintenance activities are handled by our Plant Engineer and maintenance team.

Candidates who have only operated manufacturing equipment but have not independently performed production line setups, changeovers, and machine adjustments may not be a good fit for this position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing setup mechanic, line mechanic, or changeover technician experience required
• Experience independently performing production line setups and changeovers required
• Cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, food, nutraceutical, or other regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with filling, capping, labeling, packaging, or conveyor equipment
• Ability to read and follow production schedules and setup requirements
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Spanish only or bilingual English/Spanish required

Schedule Flexibility

Vege Labs occasionally operates multiple shifts or staggered schedules. Flexibility is required based on business needs.
