Position Summary

The Medical Review Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the legal team by managing case documentation, processing intake forms, and maintaining accurate records within a case management system. This role ensures client and case information is organized, up-to-date, and accessible to support efficient case handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Order and obtain medical records and billing documents
• Request and manage medical liens, including notices
• Assist legal assistants and paralegals with documentation and records management
• Process requests and conduct research as needed
• Accurately enter and update information in the case management system
• Ensure all work complies with applicable privacy regulations (including HIPAA)

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional education in a related field is a plus
• 1–4 years of experience in a medical, legal, or similar environment preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and records strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage follow-ups without supervision
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Customer service experience is a plus

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a basic Word and typing assessment
• Must provide three professional references
• Background check required (no drug screening)

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 1-hour lunch break

Compensation

• $18/hour (increases to $20/hour upon permanent placement)
• Performance reviews at 6 months and 1 year with potential for additional increases
• FGP offers contract employees benefits including minimum essential coverage insurance, a fixed indemnity plan and a 401k retirement plan once eligibility requirements are met
