This position is located in our Fairfax,VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
.Lead the design and implementation of cloud based data warehousing and analytics solutions, including AWS and Snowflake platforms, supporting enterprise data management and modernization initiatives.
.Architect and optimize hybrid environments, ensuring seamless migration from on prem data warehouses to cloud platforms, and maintaining parallel operations during transition.
.Develop migration strategies, integration patterns, and transformation logic for structured, semi structured, and unstructured data sources, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and extensibility.
.Configure and manage cloud services and components to support data movement, analytics integration, and operational excellence.
.Implement security controls, encryption policies, role based access, and compliance requirements for all cloud workloads, supporting audit, privacy, and regulatory mandates.
.Develop and maintain automation scripts, cloud formation templates, and CI/CD pipelines for repeatable, secure, and efficient deployments.
.Monitor and optimize cloud platform performance, cost governance, and operational health using tools.
.Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, technical program leadership, security, and data governance teams to ensure technical alignment, operational readiness, and compliance across all environments.
.Support advanced analytics, AI/ML integrations, and data blending capabilities, enabling self service analytics and modern data workflows.
.Develop and maintain architectural artifacts, technical documentation, SOPs, and design blueprints for transition planning, audit, and compliance.
.Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, data engineers, and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of cloud solutions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
.At least ten (10) years of experience designing and implementing solutions for data warehousing, data and analytical programs in the cloud with enterprise scope and complexity.
.Deep expertise in cloud architecture, configuration, and operations, including migration, integration, and optimization of enterprise data platforms.
.Proven experience architecting hybrid environments, managing parallel operations, and leading large scale migrations from on prem to cloud data warehouses.
.Strong background in security, compliance, and governance for cloud data platforms, including encryption, access control, audit, and privacy requirements.
.Experience developing automation scripts, cloud formation templates, and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
.Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, including engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders, to deliver integrated solutions.
.Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
.Master's degree in a technical or data related discipline.
.Experience supporting federal data management, analytics, or regulatory programs.
.Familiarity with data blending tools (e.g., Alteryx), metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
.Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, DevOps, or related technologies.
