Chemical Solvents Inc. (CSI) has thrived for over 50 years in the Cleveland area providing commodity chemicals and blending services to a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to, construction, manufacturing, and specialty chemicals. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Safety Coordinator to join our team.
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and company policies. The Safety Coordinator works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to identify hazards, reduce risks, investigate incidents, and foster a proactive safety culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety awareness and performance.
- Encourage employee participation in safety programs and reporting of hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees, including: workplace safety procedures, emergency response protocols, hazardous material handling, and injury prevention.
- Perform regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to minimize risk.
- Monitor operational processes and employee activities to ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation for audits and inspections.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and assist during compliance reviews.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and updating safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Collaborate with management to establish safety objectives and performance metrics.
- Support the development and maintenance of emergency response and preparedness plans.
Knowledge, Qualities, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field preferred; or
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), safety coordination, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.

- Proficiency with safety management systems, software, and reporting tools.

Preferred Certifications:
- OSHA Training Certification
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Other relevant safety certifications
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and field work in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, and operational environments.
- Regular walking, inspections, and interaction with employees in various work settings.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
