General Summary
Tissue Processing Technicians at Origin Biologics work within designated production teams to ensure the continued supply of safe, efficacious human tissue allografts, including soft tissue, orthopaedic, structural, dental, plastics, and dermis grafts, in full conformance with documented specifications and regulatory requirements. This role is central to our mission of restoring patient lives through biologically superior allograft solutions. Candidates with prior tissue banking experience are highly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate full competency through the consistent application of knowledge and skills required for the position.
- Manufacture high quality human tissue allografts in compliance with Origin Biologics policies, procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Work as directed by the appropriate Team Leader to meet production objectives and quality standards.
- Maintain an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) during all phases of manufacturing and documentation.
- Perform cleaning, cutting, packaging, and preparation of allografts in an aseptic environment.
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and monitor equipment and instrumentation used in tissue processing and specialty graft production.
- Prepare sterile work areas and supplies required for various stages of processing.
- Observe environmental conditions and report deficiencies to management.
- Participate in the training of new technicians as assigned.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of allograft specifications and processing requirements.
- Successfully complete observational audits conducted by management and Quality Assurance.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation activities, including preparation of instruments and equipment for sterilization.
- Maintain inventory levels as directed by the appropriate Team Leader.
- Maintain clean working conditions within and outside the cleanroom environment.
Job qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Biology or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
Experience
- Previous tissue banking experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience processing one or more of the following tissue types: soft tissue, orthopaedic/structural allografts, dental, plastics, and/or dermis.
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards given the sensitive nature of human tissue work.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently following initial instruction and to access information required to complete assigned tasks.
Technical Skills
- Sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and aseptic technique.
- Basic understanding of microbiological principles as applied to tissue processing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during peak production periods.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
