Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing process flows, manage ERP (E2) system data, and lead process improvement initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in our aerospace machining operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, ERP system management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing process flows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
· Manage and maintain accurate data within the E2 ERP system, including routing, BOMs, work instructions, and process documentation.
· Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process integration and execution.
· Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing process improvements using lean manufacturing principles.
· Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance process consistency and compliance.
· Analyze production data to track process performance, identifying trends and opportunities for optimization.
· Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing efficient manufacturing processes and ensuring manufacturability.
· Lead cost reduction initiatives by optimizing workflows, improving machine utilization, and reducing cycle times.
· Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement best practices for material handling and workflow efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace industry regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering is preferred, ideally in aerospace or precision machining.
· Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (experience with E2 ERP is highly preferred).
· Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Understanding of machining processes, CNC programming, and GD&T principles.
· Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and drive data-driven decision-making.
· Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to process improvements.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
· Experience in a small-team, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in an AS9100-certified aerospace manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and CNC machine optimization.
· Training and/or Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
· Experience implementing automation and digital manufacturing tools.
Additional Notes:
· This is a full time on-site position and not eligible for remote work.
· No relocation reimbursement is allocated for this position.
· This position requires access to information, or technology, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a (i) citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) a lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. “Green Card Holder”); or (iii) a person admitted to the United States as a refugee, or granted asylum, as specified under applicable law.
