As our next Project Manager, you'll be a valuable member of the Norflex Division Management Team, reporting directly to the Division Manager. You will supervise and over see the engineering work, organize and monitor the workflow of day-to-day operations, and ensure high-quality, on-time - on budget projects and products!
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- Collaborate and lead the organization as a member of our leadership team.
- Development of subordinate’s skills. Teach, Mold and Mentor.
- Lead and assist all Engineering and Drafting personnel under the direction of the Plant Manager.
- Responsible for all project execution customer communications to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery through close collaboration with customers.
- Plan, establish and execute work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and delivery deadlines. This includes written documentation that can be shared and communicated across the team.
- Manage all aspects of assigned Company projects from kick-off through contract completion including warranty period.
- Manage projects to meet all contract requirements, on time and within budgetPerform Detailed specification and contract reviews to assure compliance with customer expectation.
- Develop and manage the pre-production project schedule, coordinating both internal and external resources in collaboration with the Plant Manager, who establishes the production timelines.
- Management of approval drawing and fabrication drawings revisions and releases to production.
- Generate / Review and Manage all Requisitions and Contracts/ PO's with suppliers and fabricators.
- Manage critical project commercial decisions such as purchase orders, change orders, vendor deliveries, etc.
- Coordinate Designers and Drafters to ensure project design effectiveness and timeliness.
- Execute and/or assure timely and accurate commercial and technical communication with customers and vendors.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate production priorities in collaboration with the Division Manager.
- Manage scope changes / adjustments with clients and sub-vendors within Company policies and procedures.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, weld symbols and technical specs.
- Participate in troubleshooting, evaluation/implementation of new techniques and processes.
- Participate in oversight of shop equipment safety, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing or similar/related program. In lieu of degree, Trade School and/or Vocational Training in the Management of Blueprint Reading, Welding, Fabrication or equivalent work history.
Job Experience - To ensure success as a project manager, you should have knowledge of industrial metal fabrication, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills.
Project Managers with experience in Power or heavy industrial equipment supply preferred.
Related - Prior experience working on expansion joints and dampers is a plus. AutoCad and Microsoft Project experience a plus.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Computer.
- Familiar with Welding, Lifting Press Brake, Plate Rolls, Shear and Flame Cutting equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional elevated indoor temperatures associated with Southeastern USA weather.
- Rare exposure to heights and industrial workplace conditions.
COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use variety of tools and equipment
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to wear required respiratory protective equipment (RPE) as determined by site conditions and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work in standing, squatting, or kneeling positions as well as reaching overhead with occasional twisting and bending
- Ability to work in small spaces
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
This is a salaried position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, generally beginning 30 minutes before and ending 30 minutes after the manufacturing shift (typically 8 hours) Schedule's are agreed upon between the employee and the Company and may be adjusted based on contract requirements. Additional unscheduled hours may be required from time to time.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
