The Pier House is looking for experienced Food Expeditors to join our Culinary Team!

The primary responsibility of the Expeditor is to serve as a liaison between the front of house and back of house staff. The Expeditor ensures that kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner and check all orders for accuracy before they leave the kitchen.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the culinary staff
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
• Assist in the final preparation of dishes
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
• Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff when a customer has a particular request or dietary need

Job Requirements:

• At least one (1) year of previous culinary experience; fine dining experience is preferred
• Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
• Must have excellent verbal communication skills in order to communicate with both front of house and back of house employees
• Must be friendly and have a positive attitude
• Must follow all procedure manuals and safety regulations
• Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist and reach.
• Must be able to lift/pull/carry up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to heat, fumes and airborne particles
