Process Engineer Intern

ME Elecmetal, a global leader in the design and manufacture of wear solutions and castings for the mining industry, is seeking a motivated Process Engineer Intern to join our engineering team at our Duluth, Minnesota foundry.

This internship provides hands-on experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, supporting initiatives focused on process improvement, production efficiency, equipment evaluation, and project planning. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations personnel to analyze manufacturing processes, support continuous improvement projects, and contribute to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with process monitoring, analysis, and improvement initiatives throughout the foundry.
• Support engineering projects related to production equipment, process optimization, and productivity improvements.
• Collect and analyze operational data to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and quality.
• Participate in project planning, implementation, and performance evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and engineering objectives.
• Contribute to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Completed at least junior-level coursework and in good academic standing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering-related software tools is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation

• $23.00 per hour
