Our client is a privately held, entrepreneurial, high end residential real estate developer, building in Chicago’s northern neighborhoods and North Shore. Since the company’s inception 12 years ago, the team has worked on 250+ high end spec homes, rehabs and new construction projects across the Midwest, averaging 20-30 projects annually and on target to grow to 50 projects per year in the next three years. The firm has also built its own proprietary construction project management technology and CRM system, which automates exacting workflows to a precise level of detail.
Position
Reporting to the firm’s Construction Manager and to the COO, the Construction Project Manager (PM) is responsible for project execution of the firm’s residential construction projects of single-family homes and condominiums in Chicago’s northern neighborhoods and North Shore. The PM ensures adherence to the firm’s standard for excellence on project sites and represents the company and its brand with the local and regional constituents.
The PM will oversee daily on-site activities and actively manage the day-to-day relationships with the General Contractors (GCs).
Responsibilities
The Construction Project Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Full ownership and management of project sites (day-to-day operations)
- Managing timelines across all projects
- Ensuring execution is on time and at high quality
- Quality control at the completion of each phase
- Coordinating and leading weekly contractor meetings
- Solving on-site issues and bottlenecks
- Defining project scope
- Managing coordination between materials and site
- Updating daily tasks and tracking in Project Management systems
- Managing 30-day punch list
- Managing inspection punch list
- Managing buyer punch list
- Executing post-sale punch list
- Uploading punch lists to the system
- Providing updates for weekly team meetings
- Delivering reports in team meetings
- Raising issues from the field proactively
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or relevant field.
- 5-7+ years of relevant construction project management experience, ideally of ground-up 4-6-unit condominium, co-op or multifamily projects.
- Prior experience with construction project management software, scheduling, tracking and reporting tools, and the ability to learn new ones is required.
- A thorough understanding of construction operations and processes is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with construction projects in Chicago’s northern suburbs is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and coordinate numerous activities and diverse groups.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
