About the Role:
We are seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join our Insurance Defense practice at Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas, LLP. This role offers hands-on litigation experience, significant responsibility, and direct client interaction. The position is primarily focused on automobile insurance defense (approximately 80%), with additional exposure to general liability matters, including premises liability, dram shop/liquor liability, social host liability, and homeowners’ claims.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lateral associate looking to deepen their litigation experience within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Litigation Associate Attorney Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload focused primarily on automobile insurance defense matters
- Handle general liability cases including premises liability, dram shop, social host, and homeowners’ claims
- Work on UM/UIM matters, insurance coverage issues, and appellate assignments as needed
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
- Conduct depositions, court appearances, and mediations
- Represent clients in hearings, arbitrations, and trial proceedings (as applicable)
- Maintain proactive communication with clients and insurance carriers
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case strategy and execution
Litigation Associate Attorney Qualifications:
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required); New York and/or Pennsylvania admission is a plus
- 2–6 years of litigation experience preferred, ideally in insurance defense
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience handling depositions and court appearances preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
