Base pay PLUS $3/hr shift differential!
The Maintenance Technician determines causes of machine operating problems, consults manuals and other recourses (such as Engineering team members), and orders replacement parts as necessary. Performs basic to complex mechanical and electrical repairs to production equipment located on the shop floor. May also be responsible for other equipment repairs as required in other areas within the facility. Observes all standard safety practices. Maintains and completes all required records and logs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoots, repairs, installs and performs routine maintenance on mechanical devices and systems required to keep production flowing forward by possessing the ability to:
a. operate multiple pieces of equipment per standard operations procedures (SOP’s) to produce quality product in a timely and efficient manner,
b. inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
c. use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
d. effectively communicate with coworkers, managers, etc. in order to successfully assist the floor by troubleshooting/repairing all equipment when performance issues arise.
e. inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs
2. Must be available (at least by phone) 24/7 to help diagnose and/or fix problems as they occur or if required, coming into the facility to rectify the problem when called upon to do so.
3. Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by phone, in written form, e-mail, or in person when troubleshooting is necessary and throughout entire process.
4. Must possess the knowledge, skills and ability to correctly operate multiple pieces of production equipment, by being able to:
a. Understand, and follow, all safety instructions and practices
b. Load, unload and operate production equipment per standard operating procedures (SOP)
c. Provide key maintenance, specifically: possess the ability to make all operator level adjustments on equipment, perform preventative maintenance per SOPs, and troubleshoot/repair equipment as needed, both independently, as well as in conjunction with the full maintenance/engineering team, depending on needs and issue,
d. Prepare machine for production startup at beginning of shift and safely/correctly shut down machine on a daily basis.
e. Track production supplies at assigned station and ensure that proper levels are maintained
f. Track production output and quality levels periodically throughout and at end of shift.
g. Keep work center, and factory, clean, neat, and safe as a working environment.
5. Support process improvement efforts, as follows:
a. Participate in process improvement teams and initiatives that directly impact work processes, environment, and quality of product.
b. Contribute ideas toward improving processes (output and quality) and/or lowering costs
c. Willingness to take on other role responsibilities (e.g. safety team, continuous improvement team, etc.) to further benefit the production and subsidiary team environment(s.)
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A preliminary and interim security background check must be passed before employment begins and the full MRPT application completed up on starting employment. All offers of employment are conditional based upon successful completion, approval and maintenance of this clearance.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing duties of this job, the employee works on the manufacturing floor, which requires the employee to be able to sit, stand and/or walk for an entire shift. Also, the ability to lift 25lbs regularly and occasionally lifting upwards of 75lbs may at times, be required to perform the essential functions of the job. The noise level and/or humidity in the production area can be moderate and fluctuating. Employees in this role are required to wear static, hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) as per established production procedures, while performing any of the duties outlined above on the production floor. Employees will be responsible for properly disposing of small quantities of hazardous waste materials while wearing appropriate PPE and following standard safety procedures.
