Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Representative to join our dynamic team. This position involves collaboration of all logistics activities for customers, drivers, and independent motor carriers to meet and exceed customers’ expectations, in addition, ensuring quantities are picked up and delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate locations and assuring that customer issues and complaints are met in a timely manner with resolution.

Responsibilities:

Logistics Support / Scheduling:

• Provide logistical services for our customers, dispatching drivers and equipment to the various yards, job sites, and landfills.
• Maintain the truck routing system and daily logistics activity.
• Coordinate efficient routes and delivery schedules around the hours of operation.
• Work with customers, logistics team, sales representatives, and field personnel regarding order needs and issues, in a timely manner, with a focus on developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Work closely with plant shipping operators and scale clerks to ensure correct products and quantities are delivered in a timely manner relative to customer requirements.
• Provide best in our industry customer service to our customers.
• Maximize truck revenue and profitability.

Safety:

• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve written safety and compliance protocols for all companies in the areas of DOT and OSHA, including obtaining required certifications and training for the role. Conduct personnel training and guidance in all areas of safety.
• Investigate and finalize all safety-related incidents, including working with applicable authorities, insurance companies, the Safety Advisory Board, applicable staff, HR, and Logistics team regarding disciplinary steps.
• Through technology and other means, ensure compliance with Electronic Driver Log requirements and driver inspection reports (DVIR) processes for both drivers and shop operations. Establish company driver truck safety operating procedures and ensure daily monitoring or electronic truck safety tools (i.e., speeding, hard braking, hard turns, etc.). Based on these findings, work with the logistics team (and HR as needed) to evaluate driver performance in these areas and ensure proper corrective action is taken. Routinely audit DVIR compliance.
• Maintain all reporting and inspection requirements with DOT and OSHA.
• Manage regulatory-required company drug testing procedures in coordination with HR and the logistics team.

Driver Supervision:

• Assist in the screening and hiring of drivers.
• Assist drivers with any questions or needs they have on a day-to-day basis.
• Reward and administer disciplinary action for attendance, tardiness, and performance concerns with drivers and maintain organized driver files in compliance with union contracts.
• Coordinate driver time off and attendance.
• Oversee driver route efficiency, appropriate tollway usage, attendance accountability, and safety.

Asset Management and Tracking:

• Coordinate the tracking and movement of assets in the field.
• Tracking drivers’ time and scheduled deliveries to sites, jobs, and landfills.

Communications Management:

• Provide front line communications with drivers and effectively disseminating process, safety information, updates, and corporate correspondences as needed.
• Effectively disseminate dispatch communications and drivers’ schedules.

Skills/Knowledge:

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
