High school diploma or equivalent
Good human relations and communication skills
Ability to be flexible to meet the needs and interests of children but also adhere to expectations of the program
Reliable transportation
Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to showing up for students and team members
Available to work all 7 weeks
Experience working with children 5-12 years of age (preferred)
Application Deadline
This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted after February 18, 2026, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
Important Notes
This position is for the District's Kids Plus Summer Program, which will be located at TBD.
Summer Camp runs Monday through Thursday from June 3, 2026 through July 16, 2026.
Student Contact Hours will be from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Staff will be expected to be on duty (and will be paid) from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with a one hour unpaid lunch break.
Initial required training (paid) will be June 1, 2026 and June 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m at the Douglas Branch Library (504 E. Grove Street, Champaign, IL).
Recreation Leaders will be paid at the rate of $18.60/hour.
