We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge engineering team. Duties

• Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
• Create and review schematics, technical drawings, and drafting documents aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to validate mechanical integrity under various operational conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate system design elements, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino-based systems, and LabVIEW interfaces.
• Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or issues, implementing corrective actions to improve product reliability.
• Manage project scheduling to meet deadlines while coordinating with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless production workflows.
• Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels, piping, and mechanical components during design development.
• Support manufacturing processes such as CNC machining and 3D printing by providing detailed specifications and technical guidance.
• Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, and C programming for system modeling, control algorithms, and automation tasks related to mechanical systems.
• Assist in system design activities involving quantum engineering principles where applicable, ensuring innovative solutions are feasible within existing frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proven experience with CAD software including SolidWorks and Creo for mechanical design projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining.
• Familiarity with system schematics, drafting standards, and GD&T practices for precise component specification.
• Experience conducting FEA simulations using tools like ANSYS or similar software to evaluate structural performance.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Simulink for automation and control applications.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical failures using systematic troubleshooting methods.
• Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to pressure vessels, piping systems, and safety requirements.
• Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing system design considerations for complex machinery or devices involved in quantum engineering or other advanced fields. Pay: $79,331.77 - $95,539.34 per year
