An entry-level Geologist/Environmental Scientist is typically assigned specific tasks on project teams and is expected to use their knowledge to resolve the problems and tasks they are assigned under the mentorship of senior staff. Field work, data management, report writing and interaction with project staff will play an important role in the candidate’s success. Potential assignments in this role may include:
- Collecting samples of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media in support of site investigation and remediation objectives.
- Installing monitoring wells, performing remediation monitoring, and overseeing contractors.
Candidate should be a self-starter and possess strong technical and writing skills to support a wide range of science and engineering projects. A successful candidate will also be detail oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or related field from an accredited program.
- 0-3 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ArcGIS is a plus
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.
Pay:
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings.
