Your Role at SafelyYou
SafelyYou is looking for a Director of Content to own our content strategy and execution from end to end. You'll lead a full-spectrum content program — case studies, white papers, research reports, press releases, blog posts, one-pagers, web copy, email campaigns, and social media — while also driving SafelyYou's presence in traditional search, AI-generated answers, and emerging discovery channels.

This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role. You'll set the editorial direction, write and edit content yourself, and manage a network of freelancers and agencies to scale output. You'll report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with teams across the company to surface the stories, data, and proof points that make SafelyYou's content compelling and credible.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Production

• Own and drive SafelyYou's content calendar in close partnership with the VP of Marketing, aligning content with business priorities, campaigns, and go-to-market moments.

• Produce and oversee a full range of content assets: case studies, white papers, research reports, press releases, blog posts, one-pagers, web copy, email campaigns, social media posts, and sales enablement materials.

• Write, edit, and review content yourself — this role requires someone who's equally comfortable as a hands-on writer and as a director setting standards for outside contributors.

• Brief, manage, and quality-control freelancers and agencies, ensuring all outside work meets SafelyYou's brand voice, accuracy standards, and strategic goals.

• Partner with stakeholders across clinical, sales, customer success, and product teams to surface stories, insights, and proof points that ground content in real outcomes.

• Partner with data analysts to uncover key findings from SafelyYou's research and operations to support storytelling, and conduct external research as needed.

• Audit existing content regularly and recommend improvements based on performance, SEO opportunity, audience relevance, and strategic fit.

• Identify and prioritize new content opportunities based on audience needs, industry trends, competitive gaps, and business goals.

SEO, GEO & AEO

• Own SafelyYou's organic search strategy end to end — including keyword research, content gap analysis, on-page optimization, and coordination with web and technical stakeholders on site-side SEO.

• Lead SafelyYou's generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) strategy, ensuring SafelyYou's expertise, research, and insights surface in AI-generated answers, featured snippets, and voice search results.

• Build and maintain the content architecture, structured data, and internal knowledge frameworks that help AI models accurately discover, cite, and represent SafelyYou.

• Monitor how generative AI tools — including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and others — surface content in the senior care and AI-for-healthcare space, and adapt strategy accordingly.

• Track and report on organic search performance, AI-citation presence, and content-driven pipeline contribution, translating findings into clear recommendations.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Measure content effectiveness across lead generation, brand awareness, customer engagement, and other key goals.

• Use performance data to make ongoing recommendations on what's working, what needs investment, and where to cut.

• Recommend new channels, formats, and tactics, and develop clear testing strategies before scaling.

• Share big ideas and well-reasoned opinions that push SafelyYou's content forward — we want someone who challenges current thinking, not just executes it.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, plus 8+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, or a comparable role — with at least 2 years in a director or senior lead capacity.

• Demonstrated experience owning and executing a full content program, from strategy through production.

• Deep SEO expertise, including keyword research tools, technical SEO fundamentals, on-page optimization, and content architecture for search.

• Working knowledge of GEO and AEO practices, including structured data/schema markup, entity optimization, AI citation patterns, and featured snippet strategy.

• Experience briefing, managing, and quality-controlling freelancers, agencies, and other outside contributors.

• Strong writer and editor — you can produce polished, brand-accurate copy yourself and make outside work sound like SafelyYou.

• Analytical and data-driven, with hands-on experience in Google Analytics, Search Console, or comparable tools.

• Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills; comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.

• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, remote environment.

• Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or senior care is a strong plus.

• Passion for SafelyYou's mission — using AI to keep seniors safe and support the people who care for them.

Salary Range: $125-150K base, commensurate with experience
