Job Overview
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of injection molds in production. This role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of injection molds to support continuous production and minimize downtime. The position requires strong practical mechanical skills and the ability to quickly resolve mold-related issues on the production floor.
Essential Duties
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of injection molds to ensure stable production operations.
- Quickly identify mold issues during production, diagnose root mechanical causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
- Inspect mold components to identify wear, damage, or failure risks and support timely corrective maintenance.
- Support mold changeovers, setups, and start-ups to ensure smooth transition into production.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve mold-related issues and reduce downtime.
- Maintain basic maintenance records, including repairs performed, parts replaced, and recurring issues.
- Follow company safety procedures and comply with internal manufacturing and quality standards, including IATF16949, ISO45001, and ISO14001.
- Ensure proper use and organization of tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment.
- Support continuous improvement of daily maintenance activities through practical, shop-floor based feedback.
- Complete other maintenance-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Education Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering disciplines.
2. Work Experience: No less than 5 years of working experience in injection mold maintenance, injection mold design or mold project management.
3. Solid basic knowledge of molds; familiar with the structure, working principles and functions of all components of injection molds.
4. Possess fitter maintenance skills or injection mold design capabilities.
5. Proficient in data analysis and office software including Excel and PPT.
6. Diligent and reliable, good at communication and coordination, with strong execution ability and pressure resistance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in injection mold maintenance, mold repair, or tooling/machine maintenance.
- Strong understanding of injection mold structure, components, and operation.
- Practical mechanical aptitude with ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble molds.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word) for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with production teams.
This position is open to both entry-level and experienced candidates. Recent engineering graduates with internships, co-op experience, or coursework related to manufacturing, plastics, or injection molding are encouraged to apply. Training and development will be provided for qualified candidates.
