Job Description

Little Light Speech Therapy is a growing pediatric speech and feeding therapy private practice serving children and families throughout Monmouth and Middlesex Counties. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing & Insurance Coordinator to support our administrative and insurance operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with commercial insurance plans, submitting and following up on claims, obtaining authorizations, verifying benefits, and communicating with insurance companies regarding denials and payment issues.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
• Obtain prior authorizations and referrals when required
• Submit and track insurance claims
• Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims
• Communicate with insurance representatives regarding claim status
• Assist with credentialing and provider enrollment
• Maintain CAQH profiles and provider information
• Track authorization visit counts and expiration dates
• Review EOBs and payment postings
• Assist with patient billing questions as needed
• Maintain accurate records within our practice management software

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience with medical billing and insurance verification
• Knowledge of commercial insurance plans (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred:

• Experience working in speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA, or other outpatient healthcare settings
• Familiarity with CPT codes and insurance authorization processes
• Experience with credentialing and CAQH

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Approximately 5–15 hours per week initially
• Flexible schedule
• Remote or hybrid options available

Compensation

• $20–$30+ per hour based on experience
