Position Overview:
The Assistant Production Artist will support the print and graphics team with production artwork, print revisions, merchandising decks, and seasonal development organization. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or junior-level candidate looking to build a career in fashion print and graphic design. The role is heavily focused on execution, organization, and production support rather than highly conceptual design work.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Production Artist:
- Assist with production artwork setup for apparel prints and graphics.
- Create print recolors and prepare artwork files for development.
- Build and organize print and graphic merchandising decks.
- Support communication and workflow coordination with overseas development teams.
- Assist with seasonal print, graphic, and color story organization.
- Work from style lists to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Help compile inspiration, trend research, development concepts, and seasonal direction.
- Support print and graphic development across multiple apparel categories.
- Assist the design team with daily production needs and project turnaround.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Production Artist:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working on production-focused design tasks and revisions.
- Interest in fashion, apparel, prints, and graphics.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Production Artist:
- Internship or professional experience within fashion, apparel, print, graphic design, or production art.
- Experience working with apparel prints, graphics, or merchandising presentations.
- Understanding of apparel development processes is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with overseas teams is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
