Position Summary
The Pallet Tagging Lead/Supervisor serves as the on-site supervisor for a two-person tagging team. This role is split between hands-on pallet-level tagging (covering 8 store destinations within the facility) and overseeing the real-time data flowing into the client’s dashboard from the two associate taggers. The Lead is the first line of response when data discrepancies arise — they troubleshoot, escalate to client’s support, and keep the operation running smoothly across the shift. A client-provided laptop is issued and configured by client’s IT team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Tagging Duties
- Apply client’s pallet-level tags to pallets destined for store locations within DFW5.
- Track pallet assignments by dock door to ensure correct tagging by destination.
- Step in to assist with case-level tagging at the depots as needed based on volume.
Dashboard Monitoring & Data Oversight
- Use a client-provided laptop to monitor the client’s inventory dashboard throughout the shift.
- Periodically refresh the dashboard and interpret whether data from both depot taggers is populating correctly.
- Identify data gaps, missing scans, or any discrepancies between physical tagging activity and dashboard data.
- Raise flags immediately if data is not updating as expected — this may indicate a scan error, connectivity issue, or procedural gap.
- Contact the client’s support line and document issues in the project communication channel (Teams/chat).
Team Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate the two associate case taggers assigned to Depots
- Conduct brief check-ins to confirm associates are following correct scanning procedure.
- Coach associates if scanning errors or incorrect tagging sequences are identified.
- Communicate shift updates, volume changes, or operational adjustments in a timely manner.
Work Environment
- Split between warehouse floor (tagging) and a stationary laptop workstation (dashboard monitoring).
- Active distribution center with forklifts, conveyors, and dock activity in the immediate work area.
- Light lifting (under 20 lbs for individual cases); no forklift operation required.
- All hardware (laptop, scanner, client’s tags) provided by the client; onboarded by client’s IT before start.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment center — must be comfortable in an active DC environment.
- Tech-comfortable: ability to use a laptop, navigate a web dashboard, and interpret basic data (e.g., recognizing when records are missing or not updating).
- Microsoft Office proficiency — Excel used regularly on this project.
- Strong communication skills — must be able to document issues in writing and coordinate with remote support teams.
- Leadership or lead experience — this person oversees two associates and is accountable for shift output.
- High reliability and professional accountability — the Lead sets the tone for attendance and performance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain consistent output across a 10-hour shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, WMS, or any inventory tracking/management system — client’s platform operates similarly.
- Prior experience working in a Walmart DC, fulfillment, or vendor operation (e.g., Pepsi vendor experience, direct DSD, etc.).
- Experience as a team lead, warehouse supervisor, or shift coordinator.
- Flexibility to cover either shift is strongly preferred.
