St. Francis Borgia Grade School is seeking a creative, faith-filled, and enthusiastic STEM/STREAM Teacher to join our Catholic school community. Position Summary
The STEM/STREAM Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a Catholic school setting while fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation. The teacher will help students explore science, technology, religion, engineering, art, and mathematics through engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and hands-on activities.
Rooted in the mission of the Catholic Church, the STEM/STREAM Teacher supports both academic growth and faith formation while helping students develop confidence, problem-solving skills, creativity, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on STEM/STREAM instruction aligned with school curriculum and Archdiocesan Standards
- Create meaningful learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, innovation, and critical thinking
- Incorporate science, technology, religion, engineering, art, and mathematics into lessons and projects when appropriate
- Integrate Catholic teaching, values, and traditions into classroom culture and daily interactions
- Maintain a positive, respectful, structured, and faith-centered learning environment
- Use effective classroom management practices consistent with Gospel values and school expectations
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods and maintain accurate grades, records, and documentation
- Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and expectations
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and required trainings
- Support school liturgies, prayer experiences, service opportunities, and school/parish events as requested
- Carry out supervision and other assigned duties, including recess, hallway, arrival/dismissal, or lunch duty
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM/STREAM-related field, or related area
- Teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of instructional best practices, assessment, and classroom management
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on, student-centered learning experiences
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to be part of a faith-filled school community
Working Conditions & Requirements
- Classroom-based instructional setting within a Catholic school environment
- May involve working with multiple grade levels and a range of learner needs
- Completion of Archdiocesan Safe Environment/Protecting God’s Children training and required background checks
- Ability to meet the physical and professional demands of a classroom setting, including standing, walking, supervising students, and supporting hands-on classroom activities
