OVERVIEW

We are seeking a 3rd Shift Manager with experience in manufacturing for an automotive manufacturer in Laurens. Hours are Sunday night through Thursday night/Friday morning (11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). The position is salaried and exempt from overtime and does require experience managing production workers in a manufacturing environment with robotics or CNC machinery.

DUTIES:

• Lead and manage all third-shift manufacturing operations, including production and die casting activities
• Oversee a team of approximately 25–30 hourly employees and shift leads
• Serve as the senior onsite leader during overnight hours with full facility responsibility
• Ensure production output, quality standards, and safety expectations match first and second shift performance
• Assign workstations and equipment, manage floor coverage, and adjust staffing as needed
• Hold employees accountable to attendance, PPE, safety procedures, and performance expectations
• Respond to escalations and emergency situations and follow established protocols
• Conduct pre-shift huddles and end-of-shift pass-downs to ensure clear communication
• Monitor housekeeping and 5S practices prior to shift handoff
• Support production continuity during breaks or staffing shortages when required
• Approve or deny time-off requests and manage attendance using internal systems
• Communicate key metrics, issues, and priorities to daytime leadership
• Partner with onsite safety and technical resources to ensure compliance and equipment readiness
• Participate in onboarding and cross-training across departments
• Maintain professional boundaries while supporting employee growth and development
• Avoid micromanagement while fostering accountability and consistency

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a management position in a manufacturing environment is required
• Able to work and stay on 3rd shift (Sunday-Thurs 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.)
• Able to work additional hours or weekends as needed (this position is exempt)
• Able to work in Laurens, SC
• Proven ability to manage an entire facility or department with minimal oversight
• Background in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments with CNC or robotics machinery required
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to make decisions independently
• Ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining a professional, respectful culture
• Familiarity with machining, die casting, or similar processes is a plus
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be able to train on day shift for 2 weeks (6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

PAY/BENEFITS

• $70-$80k (but may be negotiable with a max up to $90k for more experience)
• Exempt position
• Comp time available following weekend support (must be planned in advance)
• Monthly bonus eligibility
• Structured 2-week training on day shift, followed by additional training on night shift

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
