About the Role
Master Steel is a Woman-Owned, AISC-Certified structural steel fabricator based in Hardeeville, SC. We are adding a second Detailing Coordinator to our Pre-Production department to work alongside our current coordinator and help own the detailing pipeline across a growing book of projects. This person will keep shop and erection drawings accurate, on schedule, and aligned with contract documents, EOR comments, and Master Steel standards — and will be a key link between our project managers, outsourced detailers, and the fabrication shop.
Department & Reporting
Department: Pre-Production. Reports to the Pre-Production Manager (COO) and works closely with the existing Detailing Coordinator, Project Managers, and the shop. Coordinates outsourced detailing partners.

- Enforce Master Steel detailing standards, model accuracy, and CNC file integrity.

- Review and dispatch EOR (Engineer of Record) comments and verify revisions are incorporated correctly.
- Manage Tekla / detailing software access, licenses, and Trimble Connect coordination.
- Prepare and verify clean CNC and model file handoffs to the shop, minimizing parsing or conversion errors.
- Post approval and shop drawings, and release approved models, drawings, and CNC files to Production and the field.
- Drive continuous improvement in file-prep timelines, drawing accuracy, and import quality to the shop.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in structural steel detailing or detailing coordination, with a strong working knowledge of shop and erection drawings.
- Proficiency with Tekla Structures (or comparable structural steel detailing software) and familiarity with Trimble Connect.
- Solid understanding of fabrication and erection sequencing and how detailing decisions affect the shop and field.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills, with the ability to manage multiple active projects and outsourced detailers simultaneously.
- Clear communicator who can coordinate effectively with project managers, detailers, and shop personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents and incorporate EOR comments accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing or coordinating outsourced/overseas detailing teams.
- Familiarity with SDS2 or other detailing platforms in addition to Tekla.
- Knowledge of AISC standards and quality requirements.

- Background working in or with an AISC-certified fabrication shop.
Location & Work Arrangement
Based at our Hardeeville, SC (29927) facility. This role can be performed on-site, hybrid, or fully remote for exceptionally qualified candidates, consistent with how our current Detailing Coordinator works.
